Traveling to Bhutan is a unique experience, and a little preparation goes a long way in making your journey smooth and enjoyable.
Visa & Entry Requirements
All international visitors (except citizens of India, Bangladesh, and Maldives) require a visa to enter Bhutan. This is arranged in advance through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator like CAT Bhutan.
You don’t need to apply yourself—we handle the entire visa process for you once your trip is confirmed.
Sustainable Development Fee (SDF)
Bhutan has a daily Sustainable Development Fee of $200 set by the government. This contributes to free healthcare, education, and environmental conservation in the country.
Your tour package will clearly include this fee—there are no hidden costs.
Best Time to Visit
Bhutan is beautiful year-round, but each season offers something different:
- Spring (March–May): Clear skies, blooming landscapes
- Autumn (Sept–Nov): Festivals, crisp mountain views
