Today is dedicated to discovering Bhutanese culture. Visit Simtokha Dzong, one of the oldest fortresses, and the School of Traditional Arts where students practice ancient crafts.

Experience local life at Simply Bhutan Museum and the Centenary Farmers’ Market, where villagers gather to sell fresh produce. You may also witness Bhutan’s national sport at the archery ground, a lively and social experience.
Overnight in Thimphu

After breakfast, journey to Punakha عبر the scenic Dochula Pass. On a clear day, enjoy panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas and the iconic 108 chortens.

Descending into the warmer Punakha Valley, take a short walk through rice fields to visit Chimi Lhakhang, the famous fertility temple. Later, explore the magnificent Punakha Dzong, beautifully located at the meeting point of two rivers, followed by a walk across the suspension bridge.

Begin the day with a scenic hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, offering breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding mountains.

Later, visit Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery, peacefully set on a ridge with panoramic views. Spend the rest of the day exploring the local town or simply relaxing in the serene surroundings of Punakha.

Drive back to Paro, enjoying changing landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, visit Rinpung Dzong, a historic fortress with stunning architecture, and the National Museum, offering insight into Bhutan’s rich heritage.

You’ll also visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples. In the evening, enjoy leisure time exploring Paro town, known for its traditional charm.
Overnight in Paro

Today is the highlight of your journey. Hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliffside. The trail takes you through pine forests, prayer flags, and scenic viewpoints.

At the top, experience the spiritual significance and breathtaking views that make this site unforgettable. After the hike, relax in the evening—optionally enjoying a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath.
