Central Bhutan brings together five districts: Trongsa, Bumthang, Zhemgang, Tsirang and Dagana.
Trongsa historically controlled the central route between eastern and western Bhutan. Bumthang is often considered the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, home to some of its oldest temples. Zhemgang is one of the country’s most important destinations for biodiversity and indigenous culture, while Tsirang and Dagana offer rural landscapes, farms and traditional communities away from the main tourist circuit.
